Tree Planting Program
The Funeral Director Service Corporation (FDSC) in co-operation with the California Department of Transportation ("Cal-Trans") has expanded this program, effective April 1, 2007, to include all members of the California Funeral Directors Association (CFDA) who wish to participate. Participation in the "California Master Trust" is no longer required to utilize this program.
At the request of any CFDA member firm, FDSC will arrange to have a tree planted in the State of California in conjunction with the "Keep California Beautiful" program through the reforestation efforts of the California Department of Transportation Cal-Trans.
When contacted by the funeral home, FDSC will notify each family served by the CFDA member and they will receive a letter and certificate informing them that your firm has arranged for a tree to be planted in memory of their family member. There is no cost to the funeral home or the family for this tree planting service - it is provided as a member benefit service of CFDA in cooperation with FDSC.
CFDA and FDSC annually celebrate the tree planting efforts provided by Cal-Trans and invite local and state media to attend this event. All funeral homes will be notified of this event and have the opportunity to invite families to attend.
For more information on this program and how your funeral home can participate you may contact the California Master Trust office at 800-322-4268.
